As I mentioned in my previous post, this year I turned 41 (yes, I’m still horrified!), and I have been in the process of updating my face care regimen. I recently switched from the Olay Regenerist to the ProX line, but have been willing to experiment with other products. The opportunity to review three products made by Adeline came along and I was given the Organic Eye Serum, the Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and the Anti-Aging Moisturizer with Matrixyl. This skin care system was provided to me, free of charge, for the purposes of an honest evaluation and product review. I used all three of these products together for a total of 14 days, and the overall results should be considered cumulative. This review, however, is specific to the Adeline Organic Eye Serum.
First, the product. This eye serum is made with cucumber extract to diminish lines and wrinkles, chamomile to soothe the skin and reduce puffiness, aloe barbadensis leaf juice to improve collagen production and reduce the appearance of crows feet, sunflower seed oil including vitamins A, C and E to promote new cell growth, and usa urvi leaf extract, a natural source of hydroquinone used here to reduce inflammation and the appearance of brown spots. Ok, that’s a lot of stuff, and, to be honest, I don’t usually pay much attention to the ingredients list nor am I really concerned about whether they’re organic or not. However, I am interested in social and environmental issues, and the manufacturer states that a portion of the proceeds of every product sold goes toward building wells in communities with limited water resources. This, I thought that was a nice touch.
This product arrived boxed, just like the image above. My skincare routine is followed two times a day, once in the morning before I put on my make-up, and once in the evening, when I wash my face before bed. First, I used my regular cleanser on both my neck and face. Then I applied the Adeline Organic Eye Serum. When I dispensed the product, it had a clear gel like appearance with no noticeable smell. I put about a half a pump on the tip of my left index finger and used the right index finger to apply the serum. I applied the product to each eye, both on the upper lid up to my eyebrows, and on the bottom lid down to the top of my cheek bone. I also applied the serum to my short forehead line, laugh lines, and neck creases. The Organic Eye Serum was neither sticky nor runny. It did not sit on top of my skin but seemed to be absorbed as I gently rubbed it in. Next I applied the Adeline Hyaluronic Acid Serum and finished with the Anti-Aging Moisturizer.
After using this product for two weeks in conjunction with the other serum and moisturizer, I have to admit that I am pleasantly surprised by the results. I sometimes get one crease at the outside corner of each eye, but I saw no indication of that returning the entire time I used this product. Also, my other areas of concern, namely my forehead wrinkles, laugh lines and neck creases, all seem to either have diminished or not gotten any worse while using the eye serum. My eyes actually feel hydrated, and not crinkly or dry. My only complaint is that I have taken to not wearing eyeliner on my bottom lid without a primer because my skin seems to be so hydrated that the eye crayon I normally use tends to run. Fortunately, the no bottom liner look is in, for now.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Adeline Organic Eye Serum.. Even if someone were not looking for a complete system I would recommend this product, as it seems to do everything it was designed to do, and more. When not reviewing other products, I will continue to use this in my daily routine.
